ST CEDD OF ESSEX

Posted on 27 September 2013
The 'founding father' of Christianity in Essex is widely believed to be St Cedd who lived in the seventh century and built the church at Bradwell-on-Sea.

On a recent visit to the Monastery of the Holy Presence in Brittany, Stephen commented to icon-writer Sister Onenne that there are few representations of St. Cedd. She has accordingly obliged and drawn him this beautiful icon of the ‘apostle of Eseex’. Stephen looks forward to collecting it on his next visit…!
