The Essex Standing Advisory Committee for religious Education (SACRE) recently commissioned a play 'The Silent Song', to encourage children and young adults to reflect upon issues of faith in the context of the challenges of life.

Drawing inspiration from the Centenary of the start of the First World War, it explores the impact of pacifism in the lives of a young Quaker and a young Muslim.

Several performances took place around the county and Stephen represented SACRE at Anglo-European School, Ingatestone. He was impressed with the play itself and by the energetic way in which those who had been bused in from local schools engaged with the challenge of the play.
