Light in the North

A number of Ferndale members travelled to the far north at the weekend to witness the baptism of former Ferndale adherent, Ellis, and, afterwards, to visit friends in Blairgowrie and Couper Angus.

The testimony and baptism of Ellis can be witnessed below (youtube clips). It was a moving experience for Ron Wright who has known Ellis for many years and for Stephen, two of whose former students, now joint pastors of Ellis’ church, conducted the baptism! All who attended, including other friends of Ellis from Southend, were touched by the warmth of the welcome that they received from the members of the church.

The visit to Couper Angus and Blairgowrie followed earlier visits from Ron Wright and Krzyzstof Osiecki and friends in 2007 when a number of evangelistic events took place to migrant Poles working locally. A number of meetings took place of mutual encouragement between the Scottish and Ferndale contingents that included conversations as to how the two groups might support and encourage one another in the future. The full Scottish breakfasts were a notable element in the generous welcome that the Sassenachs received!
