Ferndale minister, Stephen, has been asked to give a paper on ‘Authority in Evangelicalism’ at a colloquium in Oxford in April.

The Conference is part of an on-going dialogue between Orthodox and Evangelical leaders and theologians that has been in process for a number of years and within which Stephen has been an active participant.

The corresponding paper on authority within Orthodoxy will be given by Metropolitan Kallistos Ware, an English bishop within the Eastern Orthodox Church and one of the best-known contemporary Eastern Orthodox theologians. From 1982 he has held the Bishopric of Diokleia. From 1966 to 2001, he was Spalding Lecturer of Eastern Orthodox Studies at the University of Oxford. He has authored numerous books and articles pertaining to the Orthodox Christian faith.

It is a measure of the respect that the Christian Church has for Stephen as a theologian and pastor that he has been asked to contribute to this discussion.
