East of England faiths council

Posted on 21 June 2007
Stephen was able to attend the East of England Faiths Council at Cambridge on Wednesday. The Forum is the interface between faith communities and groups such as the East of England Development Agency. Wednesday’s agenda included discussion of the support of sex offenders when returned to the community and the problems experienced by migrant workers.

Stephen observed that he has found linking up with the Council invaluable in fore-grounding critical community needs, in pointing out possible strategies that local churches may adopt to tackle some of the problem (and to find funding) and to be able to give ‘voice’ in a significant forum to faith concerns.
