Church History - the proper way

A brief vist by Stephen, Sarah and Jon to South Wales on Friday included a trip to Llantwit Major.

After the Romans left Britain the fledgling Christian community was sustained and grew under the influence of St. Illtud and his colleasgues and followers. Their ministry included the evangelisation of Brittany and the contemporary church owes much to their faithfulness. The opportunity to visit the site of their labours and to see the ancient Samson cross was not to be missed.

On the return journey a short detour was made to Malmesbury where the beautiful Abbey Church continues to witness to the vibrancy of early medieval English Christianity. Sarah managed to negotiate three free meals in the local Hotel restaurant… but that is another story!
