Bumper Crop for Ferndale Harvest
Posted on 10 October 2005
The staff and residents of Southend Women's Refuge were delighted with the huge delivery some church members were able to make today, thanks to the generosity of those who attended the Harvest Festival service at Ferndale (Sunday 9th October).
For Christians, harvest is a celebration of God’s faithful and gracious provision as the crops are gathered in. And although the the traditional fare may have been replaced by tins and packets, the idea has stayed the same. Many who attended the service brought along gifts of food and other essentials, which were then passed on to the Women’s Refuge.
