Assignment, East Berlin

Posted on 27 August 2008
From the 22nd to the 26th August Stephen and John Dray attended the Biennial Conference of the Fellowship of European Evangelical Theologians just outside of Berlin.

The conference was devoted to the subject of ‘Evangelical Perspectives on Spirituality’ and included speakers from France, Holland, Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Switzerland. Stephen had the privilege to preach on the final day and was elected to the small Executive Committee to represent England. John was elected a member of the Fellowship during the Conference: so far as is known the first father/son combination known in the Fellowship’s thirty-odd years of existence.

Stpehen reported, ‘Founded at the initiative of John Stott and inspired by the Lausanne Congress, the Fellowship continues to draw together theologians from throughout Europe. The Conferences, that I have attended since 1994, are an opportunity to meet, be stimulated by, and fellowship with brothers and sisters who are key evangelical ‘players’ in the various theological disciplines throughout Europe. It is a privilege to be asked to serve the Conference as a Committee member.‘
