Another Bittersweet Day

Posted on 07 September 2008
A large congregation gathered at Ferndale on the 7th September to say 'Farewell' to Rudi and Doreen Drews and commend them to their new ministry in Wesel, Germany.

Tears were shed, hugs exchanged as one by one members of the congregation came forward to wish Rudi and Doreen ‘God’s speed’. And… since a couple of Brethren in Christ bishops (Thuma Hamukag’andu from Zambia and Danisa Ndlovu from Zimbabwe) were re-visiting the fellowship they joined Stephen and Bonnet in laying hands on a much-loved couple. Stephen commented, ‘We have been privileged to see this Rudi and Doreen court and then marry (some attending the wedding in Dresden), we have witnessed their deepening love and have been blessed by their growth among us and the growth they have effected within us. We are firmly persuaded that the LORD’s hand are upon them and that the fellowship at Wesel have every reason to be delighted with the excellent couple the LORD has led to them.‘

Ja, es ist schrecklich, dass Rudi und Doreen nach Deutschland zurückgehen müssen, aber ich hoffe, dass sie dort sehr glücklich sein werden.
