An East End Send Off at Southend

Posted on 09 September 2008
Rudi and Doreen Drews' departure from Ferndale was marked by them being chosen Pearly King and Queen for the Night!

The party was well supplied with food and included both an amusing powerpoint presentation of their time at Ferndale and moving tributes from young and old. A photo tribute for them to take away was included in the gifts they received. And, in good old ‘East End’ fashion the King and Queen were greeted with that most English of traditions, the singing of cockney songs! This included ‘my old man said follow the van’: doubtless containing much good advice as Rudi and Doreen move home later ths week!

Ich hoffe, dass Sie gerne singen alle alten Lieder London. GCSE Deutsch ist fantastisch, ja?!

Will you be able to guarantee that jellied eels will be available when we come to Wesel?
